Take a look at the diagram for the cbcboard layout... make sense of it before you start.
Cut out the pieces
Cut out the “component side” rectangle and the “soldering side” rectangle (you can find them on the layout diagram pages)
Cut out the same size rectangle from a piece of thick board: matte board (artist/craft stores) works well. Two-ply pressed cardboard is also good. [corrugated cardboard is too thick]. You can also glue 1-3 pieces of thinner cardboard together (use a mailling envelope or a cereal box). For glue, use a glue stick (free from Kinkos) or white glue, or stonger is wood glue. The board has to be thin enough that the IC socket leads stick through, but strong enough so that it won´t bend easily.
Line them up and glue together
Glue one of the cutouts to one side of the cardboard... Use a dremel or a thumbtack to poke a few holes through a few of the X’s or dots. Now poke holes in the other cutout at the corresponding X or dot (use the big diagram to see where the holes should go).
Put a piece of solid wire (a resistor lead works well) through each hole on the cardboard piece. Now put glue on the blank side of the cardboard and then lower the 2nd cutout down, lining the holes up with the wire/resistorleads. Press it firmly and remove the wire.
They should be exactly lined up, itll save you a lot of frustration later if you spend five minutes right now getting it lined up perfectly... test drill a few holes in the middle to see how close you are before the glue dries...
